Week 40
With the regular Season ended, there were cup competitions matches and play-off matches to be played. Littlehampton Town travelled to play Hassocks at the "Beacon Ground" in a semi-final game in the Sx.C.F.A. RUR Charity Cup during the week. At the weekend, Lancing played Newhaven at "Culver Road" in an inter-step play-off game in the Isthmian Football League. Lancing had to win to stay in the South East Division and Newhaven had to win to be promoted to the South East Division. There were two semi-final games involving teams from Division One playing for a place in the final for promotion to the Premier Division of the Southern Combination Football league.
Hassocks V Littlehampton Town (26th April)
Littlehampton Town took an early lead when they were awarded a penalty soon after the game started. Top Goalscorer Joseph Benn stepped up and confidently converted the penalty. Having taken the lead the "Golds" went down to ten players when Scott Kirkwood was sent-off for a dangerous high tackle on Jack Troak. The second half started with an early free headed goal from George Gaskin which doubled the lead and was the 200th goal scored by Littlehampton Town this season. Both teams had further good chances in the second half but none were converted into goals, so Littlehampton Town hung on for a 2-0 victory over Hassocks and go on to play Saltdean United in the Final on a date to be arranged at Culver Road, their third Cup Final of the Season.

Lancing V Newhaven (30th April)
On a glorious sunny, warm afternoon the vital game for both teams got underway with the home team having the better chances in the early minutes. After sustained pressure from Lancing with a good chance going to Harrison Parker, a fight back by Newhaven produced a few good chances especially one for Alfie Rogers but none were converted and it was all square at half time. What a start to the second half. in the first minute Lee Robinson latched onto a pass from Lucas Franzen-Jones to open the scoring. Lancing immediately struck back when Modou Jammeh scored to equalise. Activity resumed when Lancing went ahead after a few more minutes with Modou Jammeh getting his second goal. The linesman's flag then disallowed a goal by Lee Robinson for offside So with a final score of 2-1 to Lancing, they celebrated remaining in the Isthmian Football League while Newhaven endured disappointment but must look forward to another season in the Southern Combination Football League.
